Drudge Report: 3 Reporters Kicked Off Campaign Trail

Drudge is reporting that 3 reporters from various newspapers have been thrown off from following the campaign.  Again, this does not portend good on the Obama campaign.  If varying views are not allowed, and the views came from the editorial boards, the attempt is made to banish or deny access.  This is part and parcel for the campaign.  If they don't like the questions: banish them!  Off with their heads, King Obama Spread the Wealth Around says:

PURGE: SKEPTICAL REPORTERS TOSSED OFF OBAMA PLANE
Fri Oct 31 2008 08:39:55 ET

NY POST, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, WASHINGTON TIMES TOLD TO GET OUT... ALL 3 ENDORSED MCCAIN

Couple that with the Democrats' desire to reinstate the fairness doctrine, and what do you have?  The curtailing of the Freedom of Expression, Freedom of the Press.  Yep, that's just what we need in this country.  If you don't agree with the other side, squelch their voice.  Freedom of Speech is only for those that agree with you.  I have seen that out here in California with Prop 8 opponents.  Those that are fighting against the measure are content to go around and destroy or steal the supporters' signs.
Sad, and not very presidential, IMHO.  When a vast majority if the MSM is coddling Obama, along comes a few who stand to question Obama and Sen Gaffe-alot, and if they are unhappy with the result, then "Off with their heads."  What will be the spin, because you know it will happen. I, for one, do not look forward to trying to parse an Obama Administration.  They are way worse than Bush Co.

No Way!!?!!: According to the AP: Obama's Prime Time Ad Glossed Over Budget Concerns

No, really, Obama stretched the truth? Obama's prime-time infomercial left out the effects of his spending on the budget. No, you don't say? Wow, considering that everything that Obama has done is a "less than truthful" and is less than forthcoming on his relationships with so many shady characters.
The MSM have given Obama cover for everything he does, has done, has said or is saying.  According to a study shows that the MSM have given Obama 70% positive press all the while hammering Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin with 60% negative stories.  The press has given Obama a nice little comfy security blankie.
Now the AP has a slight crack in its fawning over Obama.  In a piece that criticizes the infomercial, calling Obama "less than truthful." Gosh, in my parlance I see lies everywhere Obama speaks, not just in a 30 minute spot designed to portray Obama in the best light possible.  The article is nicely laid out with The Spin versus The Facts, a nice little touch:

THE SPIN: "That's why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year."

THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it's not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums.

In the tiny little article, it is but 11 paragraphs, at least the AP went to some trouble to point out a few of the little lies.  However, there are so many more egregious lies that Obama gets away with on a daily basis.  In every one of his stump speeches, which I can hardly handle without shouting angrily at the television for his lies, Obama commits a series of lies:
THE SPIN: 95% of Americans will see a tax cut.

THE FACTS: 40% of American's pay NO TAXES. This is part of his "redistributive economic justice." Go listen to his 2001 Radio interview about the Supreme Court.  That gives a little insight into his real reason for running for the presidency.  Just wait until he appoints judges who will be activist on the courts (not just the SCOTUS) and they set about to remedy the flawed Constitution.
To me that is the greatest lie that Obama gets away with everyday.  And there are so many more.  Why can't the AP take the time to merely look at the inconsistencies in Obama's handling of his relationships.
THE SPIN: "Bill Ayers is just a guy in the neighborhood." "Bill Ayers is just an English Professor I know." "Bill Ayers is just a guy I sat on a board with." "Bill Ayers and I worked closely on the Annenberg Challenge, oh, and the Woods Foundation, oh, and I blurbed a book for him..." (Oh, wait I just made up that last line)

THE FACTS: Obama has had a long relationship with Bill Ayers that began when he first considered running for office.  Obama and Ayers had a working relationship, a close working relationship that included board meetings.  Ayers was instrumental in gaining the millions of dollars for the Annenberg Challenge. He was the founder of the Woods Foundation, and he wanted Obama in charge. They share a philosophy.  That philosophy, that worldview, is what is important.
It stretches the limits of believability when Obama speaks.  He is so eloquent, such a good speaker (off the teleprompter, though, he is less than mediocre, and tends to stammer), he looks so credible.  There is so much more, and the MSM is complicit in his lies , in that they do not report on the lies.  They let them fester until someone in the new media hammers it to death and the MSM has no choice but to cave in and do reporting.  The MSM has an agenda, and that agenda is one of utopia, and that utopia is socialistic.  The rob Peter to pay Paul.
The dreams of Obama are of his father.  Why have we not heard more in the MSM about Barack's father.  He was a Harvard trained economist.  He began his career in the Finance Ministry in Kenya.  He was a Communist.  I do not say that lightly.  But here is the Investor's Business Daily's account of Barack Hussein Obama, Sr.:

Like Father, Like Son

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Monday, August 18, 2008 4:20 PM PT

Election '08: Barack Obama's economic blueprint sounds like one his communist father tried to foist on Kenya 40 years ago, with massive taxes and succor shrouded as "investments."

IBD Series: The Audacity Of Socialism  (Subscription only)

As a Nairobi bureaucrat, Barack Hussein Obama Sr. advised the pro-Western Kenyan government there to "redistribute" income through higher taxes. He also demonized corporations and called for massive government "investment" in social programs.

Why is it that we haven't heard more of the people who surround Obama's entire life that formed his worldview.  What of Frank Marshall Davis? He of the Communist Party USA?  What did the young Obama learn at his knee?
Who is Rashid Khalidi?  We know some of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn, the Rev. Wright, the Rev. Pflegar.  The MSM has remained virtually silent on who these people were, and what they really mean(t) to Barack Hussein Obama, Junior.
Why is it that we have so much information regarding GW's educational background and his military service?  Not coincidental that the MSM, Dan Rather's ilk, that chewed up every story there was on Bush.  But, nothing about BHO.  Why the silence on his academic record?  Why do we know so very little about his drug use (self admitted)?  Why hasn't the MSM talked about his stint as the editor (or whatever he was) at the Harvard Law Review?  Was there nothing of significance done by BHO at the Review?  That's significant in and of itself.  Yet, all we get are crickets.
Why is it that we know more about John McCain's alleged affair with a lobbyist?  Which was ran with no effort to name the allegation's source, nor finding any corroboration.  We know more about Cindy McCain's prescription drug habit, than we do of BHOs drug use.  In fact, we know more about Gov. Palin's daughter and Joe the Plumber, than we know about Obama.
5 days out and we finally see a small chink in the armor surrounding BHO, the armor that is the MSM.  Will they continue to chip away at it, or was that just a small token to appease MSM critics?  I think it more likely the latter, as the former would doom BHO's chances at becoming president.  There are far too many in the MSM with "that tingling sensation up my (their) legs.
He lies now.  He will lie to the American people from the highest office in the land.  Does anyone remember Slick Willie?  What will BHO become known as? Less the candid Barry?

Local Politics: Oceanside, CA City Council Jack Feller

The bombardment of questionable political advertising and/or phone messages has hit a fevered pitch here in Oceanside, CA.  I have thrown my support to the one candidate I believe is the best fit for the vision of Oceanside that seeks growth and development.  I have hosted a coffee at our home for Jack Feller, stood on the corner waving and sign holding for him, and will do so again.  He is the best candidate for City Council, and one of his opponents along with the unions, has waged a bitter campaign.  Here is a commercial that explains a little about Esther Sanchez:

If you want Oceanside to grow and become a first class city, then vote for Jack.  If, however, you want Oceanside stuck in the same old rut, decaying Downtown, a fractured tax base, and basically stuck in the 80's town, then vote for Esther.  Esther, along with her mentor Melba Bishop would have Oceanside remain as it is.  Jack is the best qualified to bring business, light manufacturing, making Oceanside more of tourist destination, and healthy home development.  This would help solidify and grow the tax base in Oceanside.  Why is it that Carlsbad is $9 million ahead in its budget vis a vis Oceanside's budget.  They are smart about development.  Esther Sanchez stands for No Growth, a prescription for disaster.
We need a pro growth, pro business, pro development city council and mayor.  So, please, vote Rocky Chavez for Mayor, and Jack Feller and Jim Gibson for Oceanside city council. Say no to the unions, Esther Sanchez, Charles Lowery, Jim Wood and Melba Bishop!

Protect Marriage: One Man One Woman Contribution

There is nothing more important in the state of California than ensuring that Prop 8 passes.  As Gavin Newsome has made plainly clear: whether you like it or not...

They win, society loses.  That doesn't mean that they can not have the same protections, just not as marriage, call it what you will, civil union, contractual agreements, just not marriage.

Obama's Battle: The Battle Between Those Who Create Wealth and Those Who Loot It

Finally, finally, John McCain has labled Barack Obama's agenda for what it is: mere socialism.  Obama's only error with Joe the Plumber was his candidness.  He spoke truthfully when he said "spreading the wealth is good for everyone."  He means it.  Investor's Business Daily, again, hits the nail on the head when they assert what we are in for with an Obama presidency.  With a "mandate" given him by the people, not only by electing him, but also as it hands him a filibuster proof Senate and greater majority in the house.
John McCain and Sarah Palin have given Obama's economics a name but the public may not fully understand the ramification, or so goes the argument by Investor's:
But decades later, in a new preface, the Nobel Prize winner wrote that "socialism has come to mean chiefly the extensive redistribution of incomes through taxation and the institutions of the welfare state." (Emphasis mine). Yes, that’s Obama’s economic plan.
He concluded that even this softer socialism means reduced economic liberties, opportunities and living standards for all.
The current results of the stock market reflect this truism of the Obama economic plan. Once again we can go to what it is that Obama has said, the words the he uses: "Our collective service can shape the destiny of this generation." And further he added, "Individual salvation depends on collective salvation."  Collective service and individual salvation depends upon collective salvation.  These are his words, and the rhetoric flies over the electorate, and they accept it as "change." Some even see this as a way to punish the Republicans and GW.
As the artilce in Investor's points out, capitalism is frowned upon by the Left.  The current crisis is being labeled a crisis of capitalism. Quite the opposite is true:
Almost every modern-day invention, from lifesaving drugs to computer software, was inspired by profit, not public welfare. Yet everyone shares in the greater efficiencies, cost savings, life expectancies and job opportunities created by the inspiration and perspiration of money-hungry individuals.
No system in history has created more wealth, per capita, over a shorter time than unbridled American capitalism.
We currently must recognize the failure of the market was not capitalism's fault, rather it was:
The left wrongly asserts that unregulated capitalism caused the financial crisis; in fact, government overregulation of banks distorted market incentives and corrupted capitalism.
Wielding a socialist-inspired cudgel called the Community Reinvestment Act, government forced banks to make loans to uncreditworthy minorities who couldn’t repay them.
It was the failure of legislation, failure of big government, that got us to where we are.  One can ascribe good intentions, or one can recognize the brazen attempt by Democrats to use the CRA as a benefit for their own aggrandizement.  Dodd, Obama, Frank not to mention Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson and Jamie Gorelick profitted handsomely.  And yet, we do not call for their heads, let alone haul them up to Capital Hill to question them under oath.
The jump to the presidency was probably far from Obama's mind when he made the comments in his 2001 radio interview.  He does not, however, currently have the power (yet he might have it very soon) to affectuate the kind of change he wants:
"The problems of poverty and racism, the uninsured and the unemployed are . . . rooted in societal indifference and individual callousness — the desire among those at the top of the social ladder to maintain their wealth and status whatever the cost," Obama wrote in his 2006 autobiography. "Solving these problems will require changes in government policy."
In other words, people get rich on the backs of the poor, even take from the poor. It’s therefore up to the state to take from the rich and give to the poor. In a feudal or colonial society, such a sentiment might be noble. But capitalism is a system in which one person lives well and another person lives better.
Class warfare at it's finest.  And, it is precisely his company that he keeps that is important.  Obama is hard pressed to speak of those he associates with, and for good reason.  He is keeping, or has attempted to keep quiet, what his true ambitions are.  If they were laid bare the electorate would cast him aside, no questions asked.  He is the most liberal Senator, and what is more:
Obama denies having socialist designs. But it’s no coincidence he virtually always votes with socialist pal Bernie Sanders, as the two most liberal members of the Senate.
Nor is it a coincidence that nearly all of Obama’s mentors and close advisers supported Marxism, including: James Cone, Dwight Hopkins, Jeremiah Wright, Frank Marshall Davis, Jim Wallis, John McKnight, Cornel West and William Ayers.
It’s also no coincidence that Obama devoted his first memoir to the memory of his late father, a communist, who proposed massive taxes and redistribution of income in Kenya.
"What is more important is to find means by which we can redistribute our economic gains to the benefit of all," wrote Barack Hussein Obama Sr., a Harvard-educated economist, in a 1965 policy paper. "This is the government’s obligation."
In Barack's case the aplle did not fall far from the tree.  The MSM has been complicit in hiding the truth.  We know more about Joe the Plumber and everything there is to know about Gov. Palin, hawever, the MSM has done very little in teh vetting of Barack Obama.  It is not too late though.  We can still pull out the monster of a win for McCain, he and Sarah must keep making the same argument.  Keep labling it what it is, "Socialism," but also draw a stark contrast between what it really means:
If Obama wins, he can claim a national mandate for his socialist agenda. If he gets a filibuster-proof majority of Democrats in the Senate, he might get major planks in that radical agenda passed in the first 100 days. It’s shaping up as a battle between those who create wealth and those who loot it.
Come Tuesday next week or rather come Wednesday morning we will know.  And we must continue to fight, no matter the outcome.

The End of Prosperity: Expect Current Economic Woes to Continue for 25 Years

Whoa...that was a slap in the face, a cold shower on a cold day.  You know not refreshing but achingly harsh.  I just read an article in the Wall Street Journal by Art Laffer, he of the Laffer Curve.  What he had to say was sobering.  The end of the low tax rates is destroying "market," capital is fleeing and investors are looking outside the US. The current meltdown, and the ensuing panicked government response is detrimental to markets worldwide.  Thus, we are seeing the beginning, not the end of the current crisis.  Lop on top the very real potential that Obama will be the next President, and now we see why the stock market has crashed here, and will continue its decline:

No one likes to see people lose their homes when housing prices fall and they can't afford to pay their mortgages; nor does any one of us enjoy watching banks go belly-up for making subprime loans without enough equity. But the taxpayers had nothing to do with either side of the mortgage transaction. If the house's value had appreciated, believe you me the overleveraged homeowner and the overly aggressive bank would never have shared their gain with taxpayers. Housing price declines and their consequences are signals to the market to stop building so many houses, pure and simple.

But here's the rub. Now enter the government and the prospects of a kinder and gentler economy. To alleviate the obvious hardships to both homeowners and banks, the government commits to buy mortgages and inject capital into banks, which on the face of it seems like a very nice thing to do. But unfortunately in this world there is no tooth fairy. And the government doesn't create anything; it just redistributes. Whenever the government bails someone out of trouble, they always put someone into trouble, plus of course a toll for the troll. Every $100 billion in bailout requires at least $130 billion in taxes, where the $30 billion extra is the cost of getting government involved.
Brrr, it just got very cold here in Southern California, the shivers running up and down my spine are real.  Laffer has more to say, and defends his position as simple economic facts, neither Left nor Right, Democrat nor Republican:

Bill Clinton and Alan Greenspan added their efforts to strengthen what had begun under President Reagan. President Clinton signed into law welfare reform, so people actually have to look for a job before being eligible for welfare. He ended the "retirement test" for Social Security benefits (a huge tax cut for elderly workers), pushed the North American Free Trade Agreement through Congress against his union supporters and many of his own party members, signed the largest capital gains tax cut ever (which exempted owner-occupied homes from capital gains taxes), and finally reduced government spending as a share of GDP by an amazing three percentage points (more than the next four best presidents combined). The stock market loved Mr. Clinton as it had loved Reagan, and for good reasons.

The stock market is obviously no fan of second-term George W. Bush, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Ben Bernanke, Barack Obama or John McCain, and again for good reasons. (Emphasis mine)

These issues aren't Republican or Democrat, left or right, liberal or conservative. They are simply economics, and wish as you might, bad economics will sink any economy no matter how much they believe this time things are different. They aren't.
The Age of Prosperity is over. And, I guess, the time is ripe for "redistributive social and economic justice."  At least that is what the electorate is telling us.  I don't like it, but elections have consequences and right now I don't like the prescription written by the American people.  I can only pray that McCain wins, as the best we can hope for is a divided government.  Then at least they (the government) would do the least harm.  Think of that when you go off to the polling place and pull the proverbial lever. Read the entire piece here.

New Navy Fighter EA-18G: Military Cuts Promised By Obama and Frank

Below is pictured a new EA-18G, a new jet fighter to reple the aging  current EA-6B Prowler.  Is this of those "fancy weapons" that Barney Frank is talking about cutting?  Is this part of the 25% cut in the military that Barack Obama wants to cut from the military budget, the fancy new military that we are not in need of?  Beating weapons into plowshares.

Peace through strength.
EA-18G (Neg#: msf06-1598-36a)
The EA-18G, currently being delivered to the U.S. Navy, will be the cornerstone of the naval Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) mission. Derived from the combat proven F/A-18F aircraft, the EA-18G incorporates advanced AEA avionics bringing transformational capability for suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) and non-traditional electronic attack operations.

More from Boeing:

EA-18G Capabilities

Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses: The EA-18G will counter enemy air defenses using both reactive and pre-emptive jamming techniques.

Stand-off and Escort Jamming: The EA-18G will be highly effective in the traditional stand-off jamming mission, but with the speed and agility of a Super Hornet, it will also be effective in the escort role.

Non-Traditional Electronic Attack: Dramatically enhanced situational awareness and uninterrupted communications will enable the EA-18G to achieve a higher degree of integration with ground operations than has been previously achievable.

Self-protect and Time-Critical Strike Support: With its Advanced Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, digital data links and air-to-air missiles, the EA-18G will have self-protection capability and will also be effective for target identification and prosecution.

Growth: High commonality with the F/A-18E/F, nine available weapon stations and modern avionics enable cost-effective synergistic growth for both aircraft, setting the stage for continuous capability enhancement.

Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) Capabilities

Full Spectrum: The EA-18G's ALQ-218 wideband receiver combined with the ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System will be effective against any radar-guided surface-to-air threat.

Precision Airborne Electronic Attack: Selective-reactive technology enables the EA-18G to rapidly sense and locate threats with a significantly higher degree of accuracy than was previously possible. This improved accuracy enables greater concentration of energy against threats.

Advanced Communication Countermeasures: Its modular ALQ-227 Communication Countermeasure Set enables the EA-18G to counter a wide range of communication systems and is readily adaptable to an ever-changing threat spectrum.

Interference Cancellation System (INCANS): INCANS dramatically enhances aircrew situational awareness by enabling uninterrupted communications during jamming operations.

Milestones

  • 2001: Successful initial flight demonstration of EA-18 AEA variant
  • 2004: Start of System Development and Demonstration
  • 2006: First Flight
  • 2007: First Production Deliver
  • 2008: Successful Sea Trials
  • 2009: Initial Operational Capability

The EA-18G program leverages proven processes developed by the Super Hornet program, recognized as a model acquisition program in DoD, to ensure a low-risk executable program that will remain on schedule, under weight

Another TV Station Banned By Obama/Biden

Ouch, Biden is getting all of the hard questions.  Dang, he is on the defense for Obama "redistributive" economics.  And then they have the temerity to question payments that have gone to his son's law firm...Oh, what can we really expect from an Obama/Biden administration, and they say that the current administration is the most harmful and most secretive when the Obama/Biden team won't answer the tough questions.  We've got another one coming if we don't pull off the miracle of the century!!!!

     Here's the interview gone wrong:

Is this an administration that won't answer the hard questions.  And, how many more TV and radio spots will it take to wake the undecided's?  If you haven't made your mind up about the socialist tendencies of Barack Obama, and that he truly intends to right the wrongs of the past, that he feels that the Constitution of the United States is a failed, oppressive and tacitly flawed document, there is nothing that will convince you; social and economic justice.  And, if you are like my dear friend that wants to lay the hurt on GW and the Republican's, you do so at much peril.
These are dangerous times, and perilous economic times.  These are not the times to be talking of cutting the military by 25%, of raising taxes on both the small business community, and big oil, and/or big corporations.  You do that at the very time our enemies are at the gate, and our financial ruin awaits wrongheaded decisions.  An Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Frank government will squander all hope and opportunity and 4 years won't come quick enough...
